Ghost Tour and Dinner • Kewaunee Inn • Kewaunee, WI • 10/01/11

Fox Cities Paranormal Team enjoys partnering with locations that have a history of paranormal activity. The historic Kewaunee Inn is one such location. Our Ghost Tour and Dinner guests are treated to a great dinner, presentation, a question and answer session, and a chance to join in on a mini-investigation. We have had some activity occur at past dinners such as disembodied voices and shadows, but this investigation was extremely active, with just about every group having had some sort of paranormal experience. We focused our attention on the Blue Door, also owned by the Kewaunee Inn. It was formally a morgue and funeral home.

We all went over to the Blue Door for an initial tour and information session where Tim explained some of the experiences we have had in each area of the basement.

Group Tour

During the group tour, Tim introduced our guests to the Blue Door. He was joined by a psychic who was one of the guests at the dinner and tour. She was kind enough to share some of her initial impressions of the location. She did confirm some of the feelings that some of our team members had experienced during our investigations, including the feeling of sadness and the smell of old blood. She also got the feeling that bodies had been stored there, and that bodies had been burned there. She also said there was a loss of digits, fingers being cut off to remove rings. Tim shared some of the experiences we have had in the building such as seeing shadows, being touched, and his personal encounter with the woman who was hanging from the ceiling.

Tim explains to the group that on a previous investigation, he had seen a woman hanging from the ceiling in this room.

Group One - Experienced K2 Hits

This group of investigators headed over to the Blue Door at 8:30 pm. Upon entering the basement we made our way to the large room at the far end and to the left. Cassie and Tanya introduced them to some of the equipment we use and how these instruments work. Each person introduced themselves and we began our investigation and EVP session. We were in this room for several minutes and with no results we moved to what we call the "viewing room". One of the women in the group asked if there were any children in the room with us. This question got a response on the K2. We continued with a series of questions and got other K2 responses. We did make sure that all cell phones were off (receiving calls and text messages can interfere with the K2). All phones were turned off. One of the men in the group who was sitting on the floor indicated that he had the feeling that someone was standing behind him and he felt the hair on the back of his neck stand up. This happened right before the K2 response.

Group Two - Experienced Footsteps, Shadows and K2 Hits

The second group was led by Tim and Amy. This group got right into the investigation by asking questions and closely observing their surroundings. At one point, footsteps were heard to the right side of the room away from the bar area. (There is a bar next door to the Blue Door). Within 20 minutes some people in the group were seeing a shadow. Tim saw the shadow as well. Amy was holding a K2 meter which lit up. She was standing in the area where the shadow was being seen. Amy saw what she described as a shimmering wavy anomaly. Later during the investigation there were also footsteps heard upstairs. Tim went to investigate, but found no one upstairs. One of the guests also reported that they became suddenly tired, and later they were overcome by what seemed to be great sadness.

Group Three

Todd and Jolene led the third group of investigators down into the morgue. They started out in what we call the viewing room. The K2 was placed in the middle of the room, and guests began to ask questions. After several minutes without any response we moved into what we call "Todd's room" (that is where he had his first paranormal experience). Everyone settled in and continued with the EVP session. Again there was no activity. It is important to remember that paranormal activity is no guarantee. This is something that we experience more often than not.

Group Four

The fourth group was led by Cassie and Tanya. This group experimented with a flashlight (brought by one of our guests) which can be used as a communication device, and an iPhone with a heat sensor app. The flash light did turn on without anyone touching it. When used in tandem with the K2 meter the flash light continued to go on and off without having any effect on the K2 meter. We feel that further testing and analysis needs to be completed regarding the flashlight theory and therefore we are not ready to say that the flashlight turning on and off was paranormal. During this investigation a psychic in the group sensed a presence in the room. She described it as a female who was aggressive in their communication approach. Not violent, but more aggressive than she was comfortable with. I couldn't help but wonder if that was the woman that Tim had encountered. The psychic also said that she sensed something smaller in the room, like a child or a small person. Both Tim and Cassie have seen what they describe as small shadows in this particular room during previous investigations. The group then moved to the room where Tim saw the woman hanging from the ceiling while Tanya and Sharon went to the area by the steps. The psychic told us she got a strong feeling around the room with the sealed door. The group we had just left there had some very interesting activity going on in that area. They reported seeing a mist near the floor between two groups of people. Several people in the group saw the mist, and there were also several K2 hits during the time the mist had appeared. This group became very engaged with their surroundings, and they were certainly not disappointed with the activity and the experiences they had. As for what may be going on behind the sealed door, this may warrant some further investigation.

Group Five

The last group headed over to the Blue Door at approximately 11:45pm. This group was headed by Tim, Amy and Todd, and started right away by conducting an EVP session. While Amy was asking a series of questions she got several hits on the K2 meter she was holding that were in direct response to the questions she was asking. At one point she asked whoever was in the area with us if they would touch Tim on the shoulder. And it responded by doing what it was asked. Tim then had Todd switch places with him to see if the same thing would happen to him. It did not. One guest saw what they described as a small shadow cross in front of them. Seeing small shadows in this area of the building is something that a few members of Fox Cities Paranormal Team have experienced many times.

The photo above shows one of our guests, Dave, reaching out into the darkness as if to try and touch an object that was in front of him. He described this object as a white somewhat shimmering mass that appeared to be about three feet in front of him and then moved to the corner of the room where he lost sight of it.

If you have read what happened to some of the people in the group before this one you will remember them seeing a white mist. Amy also saw what she described as a white shimmering anomaly earlier in the evening. This group experienced a lot of paranormal activity, and the fact that other groups experienced similar activity helped add validity to the activity experienced throughout the night. Overall, this helped make this a very successful Ghost Tour and Dinner.
